Electronic duo Delac have established an interesting sound that falls somewhere between progressive house, UK garage, breakbeat and electronic pop. Their latest single, ‘Xenon’, allows the pair to explore a sound that is dreamier and more upbeat, with the haunting atmosphere of its opening moments giving way to a soaring synth melody, which renews a sense of hope in the track. “After organising a club night in east London, we promised ourselves that we’d write tracks for the dancefloor and away from the inward-looking electronica we’d grown used to producing,” they explain. “‘Xenon’ is a gateway to that dancefloor.” Their next EP is due for release in the summer of 2023. -Dan Peeke
